BECOMING A CHRISTIAN BROTHER

Requirements

• Baptized, Confirmed Catholic

• Unmarried man

•  Completed Grade Twelve (12) with at

least five (5) credits including Maths and
English.

•  Good health and reputation

•  Recommendation letter from parents,

Parish Priest or Brother or Sister.


STAGES OF FORMATION
Contact:
Get acquainted, attend vocation workshops.
Come And See:
When a candidate‘s application is accepted, he is invited to spend ten weeks with the Brothers in Mazabuka and be helped to discover his true vocation.
Postulancy:
It lasts twelve months in Mazabuka again. Postulants take courses in Christian Doctrine, Scripture, Personal Development and the History of the Congregation.
Novitiate:
A two—year period of serious study of Religious Life, Christian Brothers' Constitutions and Charism, Community life, Prayer and Ministry.

First Profession:
One makes the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience for the period of one year. These may be renewed for six to nine years before final profession.
Final Profession:
One makes the vows for life.
